CWSF Welcomes New Staff

CWSF Welcomes New Staff

The Council of Western State Foresters (CWSF) and the Western Forestry Leadership Coalition (WFLC) recently welcomed a new staff member, John Smith.

John joined CWSF and WFLC on October 4 and serves as a Competitive Grants Manager.

John started his career with AmeriCorps’ Peace Learning Center teaching peace-making and conflict resolution to fourth graders. He went on to serve individuals with developmental disabilities at Wisconsin Badger Camp and L’Arche Chicago, and then worked at the St. Peter Catholic Student Center at Baylor University in Texas. John’s experience in conservation and stewardship comes from work on his family’s farm in northwest Indiana (now part of the Conservation Reserve Program), where they are incrementally restoring native forestry.

John received his Bachelor's in General Studies and Master's in Philanthropic Studies from Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Say hello to John at jsmith@westernforesters.org!
