The transition of the Council of Western State Foresters (CWSF) Executive Committee takes place following the National Association of State Foresters (NASF) Annual Meeting in September.
The CWSF Executive Committee consists of four State Foresters, who serve as Chair, Incoming Chair, Treasurer, and Immediate Past Chair.
The 2026-2027 CWSF Executive Committee includes:
- Chair: Laura McCarthy (NM)
- Incoming Chair: Jeremy Douse (AK)
- Treasurer: Kacey KC (OR)
- Immediate Past Chair: Tom Claeys (ND)
Danielle Okst, Executive Director of CWSF and the Western Forestry Leadership Coalition (WFLC), serves as an ex officio board member of the CWSF Executive Committee.
The CWSF Executive Committee provides governance and organizational oversight throughout the year.
Outgoing members of the Executive Committee include former Incoming Chair Jamie Barnes (UT), who was appointed commissioner of the Utah Department of Natural Resources, and Immediate Past Chair John Erixson (NE), who is set to retire this Fall.
Kelly Norris has completed her term as Chair and will join the NASF Executive Committee as Treasurer.
