CENTRAL POINT, Ore. - The solar eclipse is just 35 days away but the Oregon Department of Forestry has been preparing for this event much longer than that.

Our southwest division says statewide preparations have been going on for the last six months to ensure viable alternate routes are available in case of a fire seeing as road congestion could cause major delays and driving hazards for crews.
